Most newsrooms decide what matters, then tell readers. The Center Square reversed the order, reporting on the issues that matter to you.
From Aug. 12-16, Noble Predictive Insights surveyed 2,533 registered voters for The Center Square's Voters' Voice Poll and asked a very simple question: what issues matter to you, and what do you think about those topics?
Our newsroom then published unique reporting on those topics, ranging from healthcare costs to data center growth to rising antisemitism, all rooted in taxpayer costs. Most importantly, staying true to the mission you make possible, we shared that reporting across hundreds of newsrooms nationwide.
Three things make this polling different from any other:
It is one of the largest polls of likely voters in the country. With 2,530+ respondents, the sample is deep enough to cut the noise and give news consumers a true understanding of which issues are resonating and which break across party lines.
Independents get their own carve-out. National surveys routinely sample independents thinly, then fold them into the two-party split. We isolated 673 independent voters, including 330 true independents who lean toward neither party when given the choice. This provides unique insights that other polls fail to capture.
Results are measured against real-world applications. Our newsroom asks political leaders how they plan to address the issues that actually impact voters’ lives, delivering transparency and clear accountability in the months leading up to the midterm elections.
This poll design surfaces what other polls miss.
A larger sample size allows for nuance. For example, August poll results found 49% of Democratic voters are concerned about the rise of socialism or communism — in the same month, a CBS News poll found 58% of Democrats view socialism positively. Both numbers are real. Our poll also found that while 40% of Democratic voters are not concerned at all — a 49-to-40 split inside the party revealed that a single favorability figure can't show.
The findings are also launching critical conversations on today’s top headlines. When the poll found 56% of American voters believe antisemitism is on the rise, Eric Fingerhut, CEO of the Jewish Federations of North America and a former member of Congress, told The Center Square the result was “consistent” with what his organization sees and hears, and that it is felt
“every day.”
Your voice. Heard. Moving the conversation forward on the issues that matter to you.
That is what you built through The Center Square Voters’ Voice Poll. The means to ask 2,500+ Americans what concerns them, the reporters to share those concerns with political leaders, and the reach to show their answers to the country.
The next round of polling is already in the works. Thank you for standing with us.
